Travel : Cheap Eats, Street foods and Local Dishes

All travel enthusiasts visit places to experience new things. Other than  sightseeing, and meeting new people and immersing myself into a new culture, traveling gave me opportunities to taste the country's local food. Part of travel expenses is for the meals, and if I am traveling with a tight budget, I usually take advantage of the cheap places to eat and the ready-to-eat foods in the street. If I have extra budget, I am not hesitant to add extra amount if I want to try a high-end meal. I am not an adventurous eater until I started going out and see places. Introducing new flavors to my taste buds somehow broaden my horizon with food.   Below are the cheap and not so cheap food I tried in some of my travels. 1.  Momo from Nepal  These bite-sized dumplings with vegetable or meat fillings are served steamed or fried. Egypt Adventure 2019

Learning Egypt's beautiful history from my Araling Panlipunan teachers way back my high school days got me fascinated with the country's rich history and culture.  My desire to visit Egypt started way back then.  Setting foot to Egypt is another item ticked off my bucket list. I traveled together with eight friends in December 2019 and explored for eight days the land of the pyramids, the mummies, the pharaohs and the sphinx.  Riding on a camel with the pyramid as my backdrop. Prior to the travel, we already planned our itineraries, contacted three travel agencies, discussed our plan and selected the agency with the best package (the cheapest package actually 😃) . Thanks to our dear friend Chumpzy , who did most of the planning! Filipinos need to apply for visa to enter the country. Itineraries/Places visited: Alexandria, Cairo, Luxor, Hurgadha Day 1: City of Alexandria  a.  Arrival and Breakfast We flew from Muscat to Alexandria, Eg...

Northeast of the island of Luzon lies the Cagayan province in region 2. This Ilokano-speaking province, usually the hottest place during the summer period, has a big land size and has various attractions waiting to be explored. Cagayan has inviting clear beaches and long rivers, tall  mountains,  interesting caves and old churches, all waiting to be discovered. My several visits to Cagayan were mostly business trips, specifically to the capital city, Tuguegarao, but combining leisure with these trips became instant vacations. ITINERARIES : TUGUEGARAO CITY, CALLAO CAVE, PIAT, AND APARRI TUGUEGARAO CITY Tuguegarao city is a 12-hour bus ride from Manila. Where to go, what to do and what to eat - the city has its answers. Tuguegarao city has its own authentic tourism that should not be overlooked. It also served as starting point for visiting the other tourist destinations in Cagayan. Old Churhes At the center of Tuguegarao is its 18...
