FANTASTIC JAPAN

Japan is a dream destination for me, and stepping on the Japanese soil is a ticked off my bucket list. My friend Michelle and I experienced a one-week amazing DIY travel in Japan. Cebu pacific’s promo fare to Fukuoka in mid-July made us decide a last-minute plan to visit the Land of the Rising Sun. We spent only couple of hours strolling the busy hub of Hakata station in Fukuoka which served as our transit to Osaka. We reached Osaka early morning the next day after an almost ten hours travel by bus. At the Osaka castle Osaka, a port city, is the second biggest city in Japan and a city for a colorful night life, great shopping experience and fantastic street food.   We stayed in Guesthouse Koma, which is situated very close to Sakuragawa, Shiomibashi and Jr Namba train stations, and a 15-minute walk to the lively and flashy shopping streets of Dotonbori. Every night, our feet brought us to Dotonbori for leisure walk, shopping and fine din...

Breathtaking Switzerland

I will never forget Switzerland, the first country I visited in the continent of Europe, because the country's landscape, nature and scenery is really breathtaking! When my friend Norie invited me to visit her in  Basel  I did not hesitate to visit her. Having someone to host you in Switzerland is a big help because it is an expensive country. Yes, expensive! The Swiss McDonalds' meal costs higher than the usual McDonald meals in other countries. Old City of Bern Who would have thought these are chocolates? Day 1 : I arrived in Zurich Airport (also known as Kloten Airport) where I was fetched by Norie. We had our dinner at a restaurant in the airport then headed to Basel via SBB train. From Basel SBB station, we went to her place in Basel via tram transport.  Transportation system in Switzerland is very accessible. I bought a  Swiss Travel Pass , an all-in-one ticket which I can use unlimited for one month to ...

EXPERIENCE OMAN

True to its tourism tagline, “Beauty has an address ”, the country of Oman is a real gem in the middle-east and an eye-catching beauty to the rest of the world. This country which official name is the Sultanate of Oman has a total land area of 309,500 km 2  and has land borders with Saudi Arabia, Yemen and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It may not have the fame of its neighboring countries but having lived in the country for several years now, I can’t help but fall in love with this country – its culture, the unique adventures it offers, the must-see places, the must-try food and of course, the Omani hospitality. Yes, they are just few of the reasons why you need to plan a visit to this country. In Muttrah Park, Muscat Oman is home to different nationalities including Filipinos like me.  My work as well as the country’s huge land size are the two main reasons why I have not explored all its regions yet, but weekends and holidays allowed ...

Setting Foot in Incredible India

India is a historical country sharing international borders with Pakistan to the north-west, China and Nepal to the north, Bhutan to the north-east and Bangladesh and Myanmar to the east. This country is home to ancient architectural structures like forts, gates and towers. Cultural diversity is clearly evident because the country is home to major religions like Buddhism and Hinduisms.  Setting foot in India has always been in my bucket list. After learning the history of Taj Mahal during my high school, the place has always been a dream destination for me.  The worsening smog condition in New Delhi last December 2017 did not stop me and my friends (Emil, Anette, Ana and Jun)  from visiting this country. We got the most out of our three-day visit to New Delhi and Agra. Exploring the two city's attractions, tasting the local foods (including street foods) and immersing ourselves temporarily in their cultures offered unique experi...

DIVERSIFIED MALAYSIA

Malaysia is one of my favorite country to visit. Having visited the country for three times already (in 2011, 2012 and 2016), I still look forward to returning to this haven. With its tourism tagline, Truly Asia , Malaysia offers a diverse cultural tourism and one that best describes the Asian lifestyle - simplicity. I was able to immerse myself easily in their conservative culture and appreciate the country's simple living and friendly people. I even became friends and still have constant communication with those I met during my visit. A Muslim majority country, Malaysia is one of the safest country to visit in Southeast Asia.   You can reach the country's capital, Kuala Lumpur , after a three  and a half hour travel by plane from Manila. From the airport, tourists can transport to the city proper via train link, a bus or airport taxis. My first two visits were training assignments I accepted in Universiti...
